Presentation Skills Tips

  • If you have a slide with both pictures and text, it's best to have pictures on the left and text on the right.
  • Surprise your audience. (e.g. Steve Jobs took a Mac Air out of an envelope to show his audience how light and thin it was.)
  • If presenting with a flip chart:
    • Ensure the audience can see the flip chart
    • Face the audience while you write
    • Write notes in pencil to yourself to remind yourself of key points. (The audience will not be able to see your pencil notes.)
    • Enlarge your writing so it's visible
    • Use blue/black, and red to highlight
    • If there is something you really want to emphasise, you can tear the page out and stick it on the wall.
